Abstract

Abstract

Background.

Congenital lung abnormalities are not so common. They are usually diagnosed when a child becomes symptomatic. However, a detailed anomaly scan with a high-resolution machine makes this possible to diagnose it early. Here we are reporting a case of a congenital lung abnormality diagnosed on an anomaly scan. As the lung abnormality was unilateral and involving the left upper lung lobe the first differential was congenital lobar emphysema and then Congenital pulmonary airway malformation (CPAM). Postnatal x-ray chest and CT scan confirm the diagnosis of congenital lobar emphysema.
